The Objekt Bord is an assembly of two components – an upright curve and a circle. The piece questions the distinction between an object and a piece of furniture and reflects a constant demand for finding balance. Svenningsen’s project was driven by a curiosity to learn and understand the process of laminating and bending plywood, the birch ply offers strong structural integrities yet is flexible enough to smoothly bend.
Within the Student Designer category there are two cash prizes; £1,000 for Winner and £500 for People’s Choice. Voting for the People’s Choice Award will take place at the London Design Fair.
